Information You Enter
When a search box is used, the address or owner name entered is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Mingo County Property Records does not store a local history of those searches. A message sent to the site contains the details its sender chose to include, and those details are used to respond to that message.
Information Logged by Hosting
The hosting service may record standard technical logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. Those logs help maintain the site and review traffic in aggregate. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or similar tools where they are enabled.
How the Information Is Used
Technical information is used to keep the service online, address errors, understand page use, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this information.
External Services
Links lead to the Mingo County Clerk, Assessor, Sheriff, courts, state GIS, and other outside providers. Each destination has its own privacy terms. Information typed into a linked service is handled under that provider's rules. Sponsored search results are also supplied by a separate company.
Who Processes Site Data
Hosting and support vendors may handle the technical logs needed to run the pages. Analytics or advertising providers can receive the automatic data described above when their tools are in use. Information is otherwise disclosed only when valid legal process requires it.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Server logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. There are no member accounts or passwords stored on these pages.
Children's Information
The service is designed for adults and is not aimed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. Contact the site if a minor has sent information so it can be removed.
Choices About Information
West Virginia Code §46A-2A-101 et seq. addresses notice after certain security breaches involving defined computerized personal information. That breach-notification law is not a general access, correction, or deletion right, and whether any law applies depends on the organization and data involved. This reference does not claim that the statute applies to it. Use the Contact page to ask about data this site itself holds. Public property records are controlled by their government custodians under West Virginia's Freedom of Information Act, including W. Va. Code §29B-1-3; ask that office to correct or explain its record.
Policy Changes
Changes will appear in the version posted here. Continuing to use the site after a revision means the new terms apply to that use.
